If you don't have a photography buddy (friend), get one.  A camera or photo club is a great place to look and a good thing to join.  But in addition to the photography club, pair up with someone in the club that has a similar passion as you do.  For example, wildlife, portrait, camera brand, etc.   Then keep in frequent contact and share your experiences.
